Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour

Nevis Centre, Main Theatre
3 hours

Film line-up:

Jaunt (5 minutes) – In a stark warehouse office, Justice is weighed down by mounting deadlines and an endless to-do list. But every day, he finds escape in a one hour ritual that reignites his spirit.

Arctic Alchemy (30 minutes) – Traveling by packraft and foot through Alaska’s mighty Brooks Range, Roman Dial and his team have a goal of finding the source of a mysterious phenomenon poisoning watersheds in the Arctic. Along the journey, Roman reckons with fatherhood, personal tragedy, and the power of wilderness to both break us and bring us fully alive.

Reel Rock: Riders on the Storm (30 minutes) – Big wall climber Siebe Vanhee enlists Drew Smith and fellow Belgian countrymen Nico Favresse and Sean Villanueva O’Driscoll to attempt the first free ascent of the elusive Riders on the Storm route on the East Face of Patagonia’s Torre Central.

Cold Calls: Canada (6 minutes) – Cold Calls is a ski film pieced together through conversations, memories, and whatever the season decided to offer!

My Grandmother’s Sketchbook (14 minutes) – All it took was a few simple sketches from Max Romey’s Grandmother’s sketchbook to lead him on a generational scavenger hunt halfway across the world. The goal: to find and sketch from the exact spot where she stood all those years ago under Mont Blanc and make the same sketch in the same spot.

One Step Ahead (14 minutes) – After losing his leg in an accident, Norwegian skier Bernt Marius gets back to doing what he loves best: skiing big lines in the Sunnmøre Alps.

Trail To Bayanihan (23 minutes) – Sam pedals through diverse landscapes in the Philippines, celebrating the joy of biking and the power of community. Riding with local groups like the Baguio crew, she discovers how biking bridges distances, connects cultures, and transforms her search for heritage into a celebration of shared humanity.
