Based in Fort William, at the foot of Ben Nevis, Lochaber Mountain Rescue is an extremely active team. Born in the late 1960’s, it started as a group of committed local climbers getting to help fellow climbers in need.

SARDA Scotland (SCIO) is a Scottish charity which trains dogs and their handlers to search for missing persons. We are part of Scottish Mountain Rescue, and support Mountain Rescue Teams and the Police in locating missing people. The handlers are all volunteers. We cover all of Scotland, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

Mountaineering Scotland represents and supports hill walkers, climbers, mountaineers and ski tourers across the country. With over 16,000 members, we champion access, promote mountain safety, protect Scotland’s mountain landscapes, and inspire people of all ages to enjoy the outdoors responsibly through education, advocacy and community initiatives.
