Shauna Coxsey has a long list of achievements in her field (rock climbing) including being the first British female to climb V12, V13 & V14 (Font 8A+ – 8B+) which is massively inspiring. She also has 11 world cup medals under her belt. Shauna initiated, founded and organised the Women’s Climbing Symposium with a mission to positively impact people’s climbing with activities that connect, develop and inspire. An event that took place for the seventh time in November 2018.
Shauna is also a trustee for the award-winning Climbers Against Cancer charity, a talented route-setter, motivational speaker and climbing coach. People like Shauna are making the sport of climbing increasingly accessible, not just for women, but for anyone with an interest of all ages and backgrounds. Shauna herself does not come from a climbing background at all with none of her family being climbers. She stumbled upon climbing at a young age, it grew from a hobby to a passion to become her entire life. Ask anybody at your local climbing wall or outdoor college about her and you’ll be sure to here why she is important in climbing today and inspiring young people.
